“divorce planner”

There seems to be nothing better than the thought and pursuit of money for man to become creative, to be imaginative in inventing profitable ventures. Never mind the immoral or even amoral implications of such enterprises. So what if they promote a distorted mentality, a sick value system. Business is business. Money is over and above the sacred and solemn. Money in effect is god just as gold is in fact made divine. Such seemingly “natural” and wherefore “common” posture is precisely what degrades humanity, what destroys society. There is much sense in the saying that “Money is the root of all evil.” Money is good when man uses it – not when it uses man. In the light of right reason, money is a means – not an end.

The greed and pursuant quest for money constitute the powerful motor of such vices as drug peddling, prostitution and the many other predatory endeavors – having men, women and children as their usual ultimate victims. The very well known, standard and even customary huge money making enterprise in the Country is focused on unconscionable enormous graft and corrupt practices with immense and lasting socio-political costs to millions of Filipinos. They are at the very least all indirect tax payers from birth to death yet they wallow in poverty and fall into depression due to unemployment, absence of sufficient social welfare – courtesy of their much self-caring and self-serving government.

In attention to month of June, it is interesting to take notice of the latest money making invention in the person of the so called “Divorce Planner” in apt response to the countless divorces sought and obtained in many foreign lands. The cue is that if there is much sought “Wedding Planner” to start a marriage, there should also be a properly chosen “Divorce Planner” to end the marriage – with the proper fees, of course. The truth is that exactly the same person can be both, i.e., one or the other upon employ by the men and women concerned. It is even said that couples intending to get married with proper arrangements with the service of a “Wedding Planner”, now already have the option to enter into some kind of a contract or agreement to the effect that the same third party in their marriage will also stand as their “Divorce Planner” when the time has come for them to legally untie their conjugal union. How convenient!

Less certain Filipinos complain that having the services of a “Divorce Planner” is not an option for them since there is no divorce in the Philippines, they might want to consider the figure of an “Annulment Planner” – considering that such civil action on marriage has now become but a matter of fact, provided couples have the necessary amount to pay for the Court proceedings. There is the pervasive thinking and practice in the now Philippines that there is no marriage at all that is not “annullable” under the infamous ground of “Psychological Incapacity’ – whatever this means.

Such is the continuous and persistent human predicament: Singularly gifted with use of reason and freewill, these are exactly the faculties they misuse and abuse!

transition president

Someone in Malacanang said it loud and clear for everybody else among the members of pal ace family to openly censure and/or vehemently deny – except precisely the one directly concerned and apparently pointed out as the most probable “Transition President.” The messenger is in the know not only about national security matters but also well acquainted with the changed and still changing political situation in the Country – from bad to worse. The message is certainly not merely a wild old women’s gossip but actually a marked tenable option in the light of both the unenviable and untenable predicament of the reigning leadership – considering the depreciation and repugnance it progressively caused among the people, across the years, in practically all regions.

It is definitely not merely incidental that the same Malacanang official furthermore mentioned certain revealing accompaniments of the “Transition President” – such as in terms of “Transition Leaders” who together are meant to address “dysfunctional politics” via categorically a “Charter Change” that inevitably leads to “new election” under an envisioned “new political system.” Whether a well known political figure said it right or otherwise, such composite desiderata are clearly in the realm of an “Indecent Proposal”. This derision however plus all the proper denials accompanied with proper display of irritation from others in the big Malacanang choir, do not in any way cancel not only the possibility but even the probability of such “transitory” phenomena.

For practically a hundred and one reasons, there is this incumbent key national political character who seems incapacitated from subscribing to the saying with realistic fatality that “Enough is enough!” – but instead salivating for the tenure of an almighty earthly office “Forever and ever!” Needless to say, such is the perfect display of greed for power that is supported and promoted by the greed for wealth. The core problem of such a pathetic stance is that in the course of time, the greedy is consumed by the greed, viz., it is precisely the vice of greed that eventually stops the obnoxious person and revolting posture of the greedy one.

Such “transition” option explicitly and publicly proclaimed by no less than a well known and also well capable Palace figure goes properly and conveniently with the following likewise well contemplated scenarios that have been already voiced out before: “No El” and Failure of Elections” and “Emergency Rule” and similar daunting projections. In all these fearsome predictions which are everything but consonant with democratic government, the problem is definitely not caused by the poor and hungry people in the streets but someone too long wallowing in Palace abundance and adulation.

Anyone honest, upright and just cannot but gain the love and admiration of everybody else – except from those immersed in graft and corruption themselves.

malacanang and jueteng

One says the other. The other means one. One and the other are one. This is the well perceived inextricable symbiotic relationship that is more and more alive and vibrant between Malacanang and jueteng – since 2001. Protector and protégée, patron and benefactor, the guard and the guarded – such is felt and said as the long existing mutually convenient and profitable relationship between the national leaders and local jueteng lords. Contrary official verbal statements are not wanting . Neither are great empty gestures not properly made. As customary, national but ceremonial pronouncements are likewise made for this and that solemn occasion. But just the same, their actualization on the ground is but one bad dream after another.

”…stop anything illegal in Pampanga” . Such was the expressed and public command said to have been issued precisely by no one less that the presumed supreme commander of all underling commanders in the Country. Needless to say, there must be at least a hundred and one illegal activities in the Province – as well as in all other provincial commands in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. But as reality expected, the loud and clear command was not only pure air but also even fell in deaf ears of the commander’s well paid and well equipped followers. This is a great example of the most powerful being in effect appears so powerless – for a multi-million and one legal tender issues.

Needless to say, it is before the jueteng syndicates that Malacanang continues to prove its inherent vulnerability and futility. It repeatedly displays not only its regional but also international worth with so many expensive chartered flights to meet one potentate after another. It frequently perorates in getting rid of this and that revolutionary organization and armed groups. And specifically in conjunction with jueteng and concretely with reference to the home province itself of the Malacanang tenant, the place nevertheless retains its degrading title as the “Jueteng Capital” of this otherwise lovely and lovable Country.

During these times, there is something not only interesting but also intriguing that Pampanga itself is a living admiring witness to, viz., the recent many ostentatious visits thereto, the repeated grandiose appearances therein by exactly the same Malacanang occupant. The scene is a midyear Santa Clause bearing many expensive gifts to the Cabalens – gifts that are naturally courtesy of public funds, definitely not of the proud, generous and delighted giver. Would that the basic reason for such one to many personal visits were a secret. Then, there would be a tenable reason to still divine what for are such attentive and liberal appearances.

Meantime, jueteng remains a steadfast, grateful and jubilant company of Malacanang. It is expected that such mutually benevolent and beneficial companionship would understandably become more in degree and in extent as May 2010 comes closer – specially so in the event of national elections.
